Russia hopes to use the winter period to increase its pressure on Ukraine
American Senator Thom Tillis stated that Russian dictator putin is not interested in ending hostilities before the arrival of cold weather. The politician is convinced that moscow is counting on gaining an advantage through attempts to destroy Ukraine's critical infrastructure. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Валерія Абабіна), according to the portal PromPolitInform.
According to the senator, the current leader of rf is trying to wait out the winter season in hopes of changing the situation in his favor. Tillis believes that if the enemy ruler objectively assessed the realities, he would acknowledge the critical state of his own economy and the exhaustion of mobilization resources.
Economic and social challenges of rf
The politician emphasized that the kremlin is forced to spend large sums of money to attract volunteers and resort to using prisoners, which indicates a deep crisis. Despite these difficulties, the enemy plans to continue combat operations, ignoring internal problems for the sake of continuing an aggressive policy.
Tactics of energy attacks
The senator recalled that since 2022, the Russian side has systematically used strikes on energy infrastructure facilities before the winter period. The goal of these actions is to deprive Ukrainians of heat and hot water, which is a habitual military tactic of the rf leadership.
Assessment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Tillis emphasized that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have demonstrated incredible effectiveness by stopping an army that was previously considered an equivalent rival to the United States. Today, in the senator’s opinion, Ukrainian forces surpass the Russians in many aspects, and the resilience of the Ukrainian people gives the state significant advantages on the international stage.
