A Russian air defence system was struck by drones 40 kilometres from Volnovakha
Servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine destroyed a Russian Osa anti-aircraft missile system in Donetsk Region. The estimated value of the lost enemy equipment is 10 million US dollars. This was reported by Ukrinform citing 3rd Operational Brigade Spartan of the NGU, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
A successful operation to eliminate the enemy equipment was carried out by middle strike drone operators from the Black Sky unmanned systems battalion, part of the 3rd Operational Brigade Spartan of the NGU.
The invaders’ air defence facility was detected and hit in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Region. The enemy system was located approximately 40 kilometres from the town of Volnovakha.
Destruction of enemy air defences
The unit emphasized that the Russian investment of 10 million dollars in air defence was successfully neutralized using Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles.
The strike on the Osa SAM system became another episode in the systematic destruction of the occupiers’ logistics and defence assets in the eastern sector.
Systematic strikes on occupied targets
As a reminder, during 18 September and on the night of 19 September, the Defence Forces of Ukraine delivered a series of effective strikes against Russian positions in the occupied areas of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
At that time, Ukrainian troops managed to hit enemy UAV control posts, a military training ground, and critical logistical support facilities of the invading units.
