A Russian UAV struck transport infrastructure in Kyiv on 23 September, causing a fire at a gas station
On 23 September 2026, a Russian drone hit a transport infrastructure facility in Kyiv's Darnytsia district. Preliminary reports indicate one casualty and a fire on the roof of a gas station. This was reported by Ukrinform citing the Telegram channel of Vitali Klitschko, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
In Kyiv’s Darnytsia district, a Russian drone struck a transport infrastructure facility on the morning of 23 September. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced the incident via Telegram.
“A strike on a transport infrastructure facility in Darnytsia district. Preliminarily, there is a casualty. Emergency services are en route to the scene,” the mayor stated.
Klitschko also added that, as a result of the attack, a fire broke out on the roof of one of the gas stations in Darnytsia district.
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, drone debris fell on the open territory of a non-residential sector.
Earlier on 23 September, a Russian drone also struck a gas station in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district.
Attack Consequences
Following the strike in Darnytsia district, a fire was reported on the roof of a gas station. Emergency services have already arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire and manage the aftermath.
Preliminary reports indicate one person was injured. Medical assistance is being provided on-site.
Attack Context
Drone debris fell on the grounds of a non-residential building, helping to prevent large-scale damage to residential areas. However, the consequences of the attack are localized but require prompt mitigation.
Russian UAVs regularly target critical infrastructure and Kyiv’s transport network, necessitating continuous response from emergency services.
