To continue receiving Ukrainian payments, citizens must officially confirm that they are not receiving funds from Russian pension authorities
Pensioners who are in temporarily occupied territories or have moved from there must notify the Pension Fund of Ukraine about the absence of pension payments from the Russian Federation. Fulfilling this condition is mandatory for the continued accrual of a Ukrainian pension. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Ukrainian legislation requires pensioners living in temporarily occupied territories or those who have changed their place of residence since the occupation to inform state bodies about financial inflows from Russian pension structures. The right to receive a pension from Ukraine directly depends on the absence of corresponding payments from the aggressor country.
For the convenience of citizens, the Pension Fund of Ukraine has provided several mechanisms for submitting the relevant application. Users can utilize online tools through their personal account on the official electronic services portal by authorizing via Diia.Signature or a qualified electronic signature.
Options for submitting information
In addition to the remote format, it is possible to submit a notification during a video identification procedure, when the fact of receiving or not receiving a pension is recorded by a fund employee in the corresponding decision. Furthermore, citizens currently abroad can send an application by post, attaching a certificate of living status.
A paper application can also be submitted in person at any service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. This procedure is relevant for all categories of pensioners, regardless of the duration of their stay in the occupied territory, even if this period was minimal.
Frequency of notification
Repeated confirmation of information is not required if the pensioner has already submitted the relevant application to the bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. According to the department’s clarifications, it is necessary to inform the fund about status changes only in case of new circumstances, for example, if a citizen has started receiving payments from Russian pension authorities.
