The 11-lesson program was developed with support from the German Defence Ministry
A new training course titled 'Data Analysis in Digital Projects of the Defence Forces' has been launched in the Army+ mobile application. The program is designed for military personnel involved in creating, evaluating, and developing digital systems for the Ukrainian military. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The educational course is structured to help military professionals objectively measure the performance of digital systems and make data-driven management decisions. The materials are already available to all service members within the application’s dedicated training section.
The curriculum focuses on the practical aspects of data processing regularly faced by military IT specialists and staff analysts.
Structure and Scope of the 11 Modules
The course consists of 11 sequential lessons covering the complete analytics lifecycle, from taking an initial brief to delivering final reports and actionable recommendations. Personnel learn which key performance indicators to track and how to evaluate whether digital projects achieve their intended objectives.
Special emphasis is placed on data quality and verification, including identifying errors, duplicate entries, and obsolete information to prevent inaccurate conclusions. The lessons also cover managing large data volumes from disparate sources, building pivot tables in Excel, and quickly retrieving critical operational figures.
Other modules address clear visual reporting via dashboards, charts, and diagrams, as well as root-cause analysis to distinguish factual evidence from assumptions. Servicemen and servicewomen are also trained to translate analytical findings into direct proposals for senior leadership.
International Cooperation and Digital Capabilities
The training course was developed by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine in partnership with the CDTO Campus project, East Europe Foundation, and the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO). Practical and financial backing was provided by the Federal Ministry of Defence of Germany.
This release continues a broader curriculum dedicated to developing digital skills across the Defence Forces. It follows an earlier module on business analysis in defence projects, which focused on gathering user requirements and scoping technological solutions.
