The enemy equipment was struck by units under the command of the 8th Corps of the Air Assault Forces

Ukrainian military forces on the North-Slobozhanske direction have disabled a russian Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft system. The estimated value of the destroyed enemy equipment reaches 15 million dollars. This was reported by Ukrinform citing 8th Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

A successful operation was carried out by units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine under the general command of the 8th Corps of the Air Assault Forces. The enemy anti-aircraft missile and gun system was spotted during a combat patrol of the airspace.

As noted by the command, the russian equipment, which is designed to cover facilities from air strikes, proved helpless against Ukrainian means of engagement. After identifying the target, the military promptly delivered a fire strike that disabled the unit.

History of enemy air defense losses

Analysts from the OSINT project Oryx have been tracking constant losses of russian anti-aircraft artillery since the start of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation in February 2022. According to experts’ estimates, the destruction of 45 units of such equipment had been officially documented, with another eight vehicles sustaining damage or being captured as trophies by Ukrainian forces.

The military emphasizes that the current strike requires an update to the overall statistics of enemy weaponry losses. The destroyed complex is valued by experts at approximately 15 million US dollars, inflicting a significant economic blow to the russian military budget.

Results of the Defense Forces’ operations

Such actions are part of a systematic strategy to neutralize the enemy’s military-industrial potential. Notably, in October, Ukrainian units attacked at least 30 strategic facilities on russian territory.

The list of targets subjected to fire included seven defense sector plants and three military airfields. Damage was also inflicted on russian military logistics, aviation assets, and radar surveillance objects.
