Modern equipment will be provided to 203 educational institutions across six frontline regions
The Cabinet of Ministers has directed over 15 million UAH in aid from the UN World Food Programme toward the modernization of school canteens. The funds will be used to purchase essential equipment for educational institutions in frontline areas. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, based on data from Serhii Koretskyi.
International resources will allow for a significant upgrade of the technical equipment in kitchens across 203 educational institutions located in immediate proximity to the combat zone. The government adopted the relevant decision as part of its school infrastructure strengthening program.
Geography of aid distribution
The upgrades will cover educational institutions in six regions where the security situation remains difficult. The list of regions includes Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv oblasts.
Financing mechanisms
The entire sum of allocated funds was provided by the UN World Food Programme. According to Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi, the implementation of this project does not require resources from the state or local budgets, as it is fully covered by international partners.
The primary goal of the initiative is to create proper conditions for preparing quality meals for primary school students. Supporting frontline communities is a priority direction that helps ensure a full educational process in regions most affected by Russian aggression.
