The Ministries of Defense of Ukraine and Germany signed an agreement according to which Ukrainian instructors will teach in military schools of Germany. The goal is to include the practical experience of Ukrainian soldiers in the training of the German military.
It is reported by Zeit, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
A spokesman for the German armed forces said: “The plan is to include the experience of Ukrainian soldiers in training, in particular, in army educational institutions.”
The Bundeswehr thus responds to significant changes on the battlefield in Ukraine. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have more experience in using drones and countering them, as well as in integrating modern control technologies into combat units.
Recall that the Ukrainian military at the Hedgehog exercises in Estonia “defeated” NATO forces. For half a day, the Ukrainian team of 10 fighters, playing the role of the enemy, simulated the destruction of 17 armored vehicles and inflicted about 30 strikes on other targets.
The media called the results of the exercises “terrible” for NATO – the military could not identify the positions of Ukrainian drone operators. Ukrainian defenders stressed that NATO countries should rethink the tactics of modern warfare and quickly prepare for the Russian threat.
Large-scale exercises in Estonia showed serious weaknesses of NATO in the war of the new generation with the use of drones. In particular, they demonstrated how transparent the modern battlefield has become and how vulnerable any technique or unit is without proper camouflage, rapid data exchange and adapted tactics.
Details of the organization of training in the armed forces have not yet been disclosed for security reasons. However, if the agreement is implemented, the Ukrainian military will arrive in Germany in the near future and will work primarily with infantry units, reports Der Spiegel. Due to recruiting problems in Ukraine, instructors are likely to stay in Germany for only a few weeks.
Special attention, according to the publication, will be paid to Ukraine’s experience in the field of application and counteraction to drones, which was gained during the four years of the war. Also, the German military can adopt the Ukrainian experience of using modern control systems. We are talking about relatively simple solutions for battle planning and coordination of units that work in the format of mobile applications. Through such systems, they organize the supply of ammunition and the evacuation of the wounded, informs Der Spiegel.
