The defense forces of Ukraine with strike drones destroyed two Russian helicopters – a multi-purpose Mі-8 and a shock Ka-52 – at an air base in the Oryol region of Russia.

This was announced by the Russian Telegram channel “Doset Spion,” informs the portal  PromPolitInform.

According to the report, the attack on the Pugachevka airfield near the village of Pugachevka, Oryol Region, was carried out on the evening of February 20, 2026.

The publication notes that Pugachevka is a small unpaved airfield owned by the Oryol flying club of the DOSAAF organization of Russia (Voluntary Society for the Assistance of the Army, Aviation and Navy).

It is assumed that the Russians are likely to use this site as an operational airfield for a combined detachment of helicopters, which should intercept Ukrainian long-range drones.

According to the Dosje Spion Telegram channel, the destroyed multi-purpose helicopter Mі-8 (tail number 53) belonged to the 319th separate helicopter regiment based in Chernihiv, Primorsky Krai of the Russian Federation.

The Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopter (tail number 18), according to the report, belonged to the 16th Army Aviation Brigade, which is stationed in Zernograd, Rostov Region.
