More than half of the weapons currently used by the Defense Forces on the front line are manufactured in Ukraine. According to “Ukrainian News“, this was reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. The PromPolitInform portal reports.
Domestic enterprises provide the army with unmanned systems, artillery and communication equipment. According to her, the defense industry today unites more than 900 companies and more than 300 thousand specialists.
“Ukrainian gunsmiths are a community of courageous entrepreneurs who, in partnership with the Defense Forces, create unique technologies,” the head of government emphasized.
She also added that to accelerate rearmament, the Cabinet of Ministers allowed the Defense Ministry to purchase innovative samples for testing in real combat conditions, which will help introduce “systematic collection of feedback from the military on effectiveness.”
In addition, the government approved a policy for managing intellectual property rights in the defense industry. As Svyrydenko explained, the purpose of this decision is to “protect rights to defense technologies created by state-sector enterprises or acquired within the framework of defense procurement,” which will establish transparent rules of the game for the state and private developers.
