Drone assault units will combine air and ground drones with infantry into a single system
The Ministry of Defense has implemented a new model of warfare. Now in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, infantrymen will be united in a single system with air and ground drones. Thus, people and drones will perform combat missions together. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense on social networks, Informator reports. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
Such changes are already being used at the front.
Infantrymen will fight in the same system with drones
“A new model of warfare is being implemented – drone assault units, which combine air and ground drones with infantry into a single system,” the message says.
Yes, infantrymen and drones have already shown results together in the south. It is noted that “since February, a large volume of territories has been liberated, precisely thanks to the use of these new units.”
UAVs are actively used on the front – they even captured the position of the occupiers
Ukrainian defenders were able to capture the position of the Russian occupiers without the participation of infantry. For this, only drones and ground robotic systems were needed. This happened for the first time in history. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky during his address on the occasion of the Day of the Ukrainian Gunsmith.
Ukrainian scouts of the Department of Unmanned Systems of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense showed how they actively use ground robotic complexes (UAVs) for logistics, evacuation and fire support. This will reduce the risks for personnel. The effectiveness of combat operations is also increased.
As reported, the work of ground robotic complexes is demonstrated by scouts in the Pokrovsky direction. There they are used to perform a wide range of tasks in difficult combat conditions. The department also emphasizes that the development of robotic systems is part of a long-term strategy to strengthen the technological capabilities of the Ukrainian defense forces. The GUR calls on all to support relevant projects and join the procurement of ground robotic complexes for the needs of the units.
In February, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported on 7,000 ground robot missions. He reported that robotic platforms are taking on the most dangerous areas of the front to remove Ukrainian defenders from enemy fire.
