Iran has not yet decided whether to send its representatives to Pakistan for talks with the United States over the blockade of Iranian ports. As reported by “European Truth“, this was reported by the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
According to media reports, Tehran refuses to participate in the talks until the US lifts the maritime blockade of Iranian ports.
The agency also reports that the exchange of messages between Iran and the United States continued through a Pakistani mediator after the first round of talks ended.
On Sunday, April 19, US President Donald Trump announced that his representatives would go to Pakistan for the next round of talks with Iran, which will take place on Monday. Trump also resorted to new threats against Iran. He said that if the country does not agree to a peace agreement, the US will attack all Iranian power plants and bridges.
Earlier, the US president said that he may not extend the temporary truce between the US and Iran if negotiations do not lead to an agreement on a final cessation of hostilities by Wednesday.
Recall, on April 18, Iran again closed the Strait of Hormuz, which is critical for oil exports from the Persian Gulf countries, explaining this by the fact that the US did not lift the blockade of their ports.
