Prince Harry at Security Forum: Ukraine is an example of leadership in the modern world

The Duke of Sussex noted the resilience of Ukrainians and the role of innovation in the struggle.

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, arrived in Kyiv on April 23 and spoke at the Kyiv Security Forum, where he noted the resilience of Ukrainians during the war. He emphasized the role of innovation, unity and the development of modern military technologies, and also emphasized that the struggle of Ukrainians goes far beyond the borders of the country itself. This is reported by ZN.ua with reference to the Telegram channel “Novyny.LIVE”, the PromPolitInform portal reports.

“Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian people have done something incredible. You have adapted, you have held the blow and you have held the line,” the Duke of Sussex said.

According to him, few expected that Ukraine would be able to survive, but today it is demonstrating an example of leadership. Prince Harry added: “You stand strong, you fight and you lead, because that’s what leadership looks like in today’s world.”

The Duke of Sussex also stressed the need to show unity “not just in resilience but also in innovation in the face of aggression.” He singled out the development of modern technology, including drones used in warfare.

“I’ve seen what strength looks like in conflict… And what I see here today is the same,” Prince Harry said, recalling his own experience serving in Afghanistan.

Prince Harry arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit on April 23. Upon arrival, he said: “It’s nice to be back in Ukraine.” According to the Duke, his aim is to remind the international community of the situation in Ukraine and support people working in difficult conditions.

The Duke of Sussex has visited Ukraine several times since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, most recently in September 2025. His visits have focused primarily on supporting veterans and rehabilitation projects for wounded servicemen.
