Even more IDPs will receive financial support: what needs to be done by June 1

In Ukraine, even more internally displaced persons (IDPs) will have access to cash payments. The changes were introduced through the public services service Diya. Now the assistance will be more targeted. This, writes Novini.LIVE, is reported on the Diya website. The PromPolitInform portal informs.

How the IDP payment program will change

The assistance program is now available to:

children of IDPs;

disabled persons.

The state will provide financial support to vulnerable categories not for 24, but for 30 months. And payments to IDP children will now not depend on the income of their parents. Another important change is that people who previously had their payments stopped because their income exceeded the limit (10,380 hryvnias in 2026) were allowed to submit documents for review. That is, the system has become a little more flexible.

At the same time, as reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, the deadline for submitting applications for housing assistance for IDPs has been extended until June 1.

Conditions for receiving assistance

To receive money from February 1, you must submit an application by June 1, 2026. You can apply for assistance online:

if a person is just registering for IDP status, they can do everything in the Diya application, where a comprehensive service is available;

current IDPs apply on the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) portal.

What else is worth knowing

Recall that the UN Refugee Agency is an organization that takes care of Ukrainians and provides financial assistance, including IDPs, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. In 2026, an updated program was launched for citizens affected by the war. Thus, payments of 12,300 hryvnias are available to certain categories – an amount that will cover people’s basic needs. Applications for payment processing are accepted at UNHCR data collection points operating in 12 regions of the country.

As already mentioned, IDPs can additionally pay 1,500 hryvnias. Assistance is available in April 2026. It is known where exactly to apply to arrange payment.

As reported, Germany will provide financial assistance to Ukrainians in 3 regions. Thus, up to 20,000 euros will be paid to enterprises affected by hostilities. This is assistance within the framework of the grant program.
