On May 13, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court will continue the hearing on the election of a preventive measure for the former head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, suspected in the case of legalization of 460 million hryvnias in an elite construction project near Kyiv. The hearing will begin at 12:00, a Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty correspondent reports from the courtroom. The PromPolitInform portal reports.
The Supreme Court of Justice announced a break in the session after the prosecution’s statement, which filed a motion to choose a preventive measure for Yermak in the form of detention with an alternative bail of 180 million hryvnias.
The break in the session was announced at the request of Yermak’s lawyers, who indicated that they needed time to familiarize themselves with the case materials: the lawyer of the former head of the OP Igor Fomin reported that the case consists of 16 volumes of 250 pages on average.
The defense is expected to make a statement at tomorrow’s session, and part of the session will also be closed.
Prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office Valentyna Grebenyuk, justifying the motion for detention with an alternative bail, stated at today’s session that the former head of the OP has enough resources to hide both abroad and in Ukraine. The SAPO notes that Andriy Yermak currently has four diplomatic passports, the newest of which is valid until 2030.
Also, according to the investigation, from February 24, 2022 to November 20, he crossed the state border 86 times. The prosecutor added that there is no later data, since the information was deleted from the Arkan system of the State Border Service.
According to the prosecution, the possible influence of the former head of the OP on the appointment of high-ranking officials creates risks of pressure on witnesses and influence on the investigation.
In a comment to journalists, the former head of the Presidential Office stated that he denies all the accusations. He noted that recently law enforcement agencies have been put under “a lot of pressure”, in particular through public calls for certain actions. In his opinion, this is unacceptable in a state governed by the rule of law. He did not answer the question of who benefits from this.
Yermak also stated that since February 24, 2022, he has been constantly in the President’s Office, and all his trips were related “only to work.” In particular, according to the former head of the OP, he only went to the front or on foreign business trips to the USA and other countries.
When asked about a possible return to politics, Andriy Yermak did not directly answer, saying that he wants to use his experience and knowledge to help the military.
Regarding other data voiced in the motion of the SAPO prosecutors, Yermak indicated that the defense would comment on everything at the meeting on May 13, and after the meeting he would comment on everything himself.
On the evening of May 11, NABU reported the exposure of “an organized group involved in the legalization of UAH 460 million in elite construction near Kyiv.” According to the investigation, during 2021–2025, the suspects “laundered” more than 460 million UAH by building a cottage town in the village of Kozyn in the Kyiv region – this involves the construction of four private residences with auxiliary buildings and structures on land plots with a total area of about 8 hectares, as well as a separate residence for public use – a spa area.
It was noted that one of the alleged members of the group – the former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine – was reported about the suspicion. Also, six more people are suspected in this case – a former deputy prime minister, a businessman (one of the leaders of the criminal organization exposed in November 2025 as part of the special operation “Midas”) and other individuals.
Former head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak told reporters on the evening of May 11, after receiving a report of the suspicion, that he “will not comment on anything now.” Answering journalists’ questions about the Dynasty cooperative, he noted: “I don’t have a single house, I have only one apartment and one car, which you saw.”
Yermak’s lawyer Igor Fomin denied on the air of Suspilny the involvement of the former head of the OPU in the legalization of 460 million hryvnias in an elite construction project near Kyiv. He believes that “this whole situation is provoked by this public pressure.”
In November 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the head of his Office, Andriy Yermak, had written a letter of resignation. This happened against the background of a search of Yermak’s home. On the morning of November 28, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau confirmed that investigative actions were being taken against the head of the Office of the President, although it did not specify the details of the case.
After the search and resignation, Andriy Yermak announced that he was going to the front, and also said that he was “ready for any consequences,” emphasizing that he considered himself “an honest and decent person.”
Earlier, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated that Andriy Yermak was listed as “Ali Baba” in the NABU records (“Mindich’s tapes”) in the “Midas” case.
The presence of a person with such a code name in the records was confirmed by the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption curator Oleksandr Klymenko. According to him, “Ali Baba” is distributing tasks on the recordings to persecute NABU detectives, and he may also be behind the attempt to eliminate the independence of the NBU and SAPO in July 2025, which was prevented by “cardboard protests”.
