The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russian troops used more than 890 drones of various types against Ukraine per day. The main blow fell on the western regions of the country, and only in the morning there were more than 700 drones.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Telegram network, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
Russia attacked Ukraine with hundreds of drones
According to the Air Force, on May 13, from 08:00 to 18:30, the Russian army released 753 strike drones in Ukraine.
We are talking about drones such as Shahed, Gerber, Italmas, as well as imitation drones “Parody.”
In addition, a night attack was also taken into account, during which another 139 UAVs were recorded.
Thus, the total number of Russian drones used per day exceeded 890 units.
The main goal was the western regions
The Air Force said that the main direction of the strike was the western regions of Ukraine.
It is also noted that during the attack, Russian troops again used the territory of Belarus and Moldova to fly attack drones towards Ukraine.
Aviation, air defense units, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare forces and units of unmanned systems of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the air attack.
Hundreds of drones were destroyed
According to preliminary data, as of 18:30, the Ukrainian air defense shot down or suppressed 710 enemy drones of various types in almost all regions of the country.
At the same time, 36 strike drones were hit. In 26 locations, the wreckage of downed drones fell.
The Air Force emphasized that the air attack continued in the evening. Several Russian UAVs were still in Ukrainian airspace at that time.
We remind you that on May 13, Russian troops used the tactics of a long combined strike, not limited to a night attack. According to intelligence and statements by the president, a new wave of massive attacks continues and can persist throughout the day, turning into a protracted regime of influence on the territory of Ukraine.
