Economic recovery pace turned out 0.2 percentage points lower than initially expected
In the second quarter of 2026, Ukraine's real GDP grew by 0.4% year-on-year. This figure is 1.5 times lower than the agency's previous forecasts. This was reported by Economichna Pravda citing the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Compared to the first quarter of the current year, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 0.3%. The nominal volume of the economy for the reporting period reached 2,305.7 billion UAH.
Reasons for the economic revision
The adjustment of the final figures is due to updated operational data received by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. In particular, the agency’s experts processed reports from the State Treasury Service regarding the execution of state and local budgets.
Impact of new statistical data
Additional factors included updated information from the Balance of Payments, as well as expanded data provided by the National Bank of Ukraine. Detailed service sector statistics concerning telecommunications, postal, and courier activities also had a significant impact.
GDP growth dynamics year-on-year
Earlier forecasts by the State Statistics Service projected economic growth at 0.6% compared to the same period in 2025. Following the update of statistical data, this figure was officially downgraded to 0.4%.
