Ukrainian developer DevDroid presented the new Droid TW 40 intelligence and strike ground robotic complex at the MSPO 2026 exhibition. The system is armed with a 40mm automatic grenade launcher and is capable of engaging targets at a distance of up to 1.5 km. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Костянтин Широкун) citing DevDroid, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The unit is designed to conduct fire from both open and closed positions, which minimizes risks to personnel during combat engagements. The operator controls the platform and the combat module via an integrated interface.
System technical parameters
Targeting precision is ensured by an embedded ballistic computer and coordinate-based navigation. For real-time target acquisition, the complex is equipped with thermal imaging equipment.
The platform moves at a speed of up to 13 km/h. It has a range of 70 km on paved surfaces and 50 km on rough terrain, while the complex can remain in standby mode for up to 120 hours.
Network capabilities
Developers have included support for six different types of communication, including LTE standard, satellite channels, and radio links. This allows for effective control of the complex in various frontline conditions.
It should be noted that demand for such equipment in Ukraine is growing rapidly. Since the beginning of 2026, the number of combat missions performed by ground robots has increased 3.3 times, and the volume of government contracts for their procurement has almost doubled compared to last year’s figures.
