The President highlighted the importance of a collective response to terrorism threats

Volodymyr Zelenskyy recalled the tragic events of September 11 that took place 25 years ago in the United States. The Head of State honored the memory of approximately 3,000 victims from across the world. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The President noted that 25 years ago, the world witnessed a massive terrorist attack in the USA. Among the nearly 3,000 victims of that tragedy were citizens of Ukraine, which makes commemorating the event of special significance to Ukrainian society.

Remembering rescuers and victims

Special tribute was paid to those who attempted to save the lives of others during the attacks. Among the firefighters and police officers who risked their lives in the critical moment were individuals of Ukrainian descent.

NATO’s role in responding to terrorism

The Head of State outlined the importance of the decisions taken by the Alliance following the attack on the United States. The invocation of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty demonstrated the organization’s capacity for a resolute collective reaction to global threats.

According to the country’s leader, this historical experience proves the necessity of an uncompromising response to any manifestations of terrorism. Protecting civilizational values and rights requires that evil be duly punished.
