The death toll from the strike on the NAS of Ukraine has risen to two
President of Moldova Maia Sandu strongly condemned Russian air strikes on Ukrainian cities. During the attack in Kyiv, a building of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was damaged. This was reported by Glavcom citing The Washington Post, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
As a result of another air attack on the capital, an impact was recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city. Residential buildings and a medical facility were also hit.
The head of the Moldovan state emphasized that such actions indicate targeted terror against the civilian population and infrastructure. She called for holding the aggressor accountable.
Consequences of the attack in the capital
During debris clearance on the territory of the National Academy of Sciences, rescuers discovered the body of another dead person. The total number of victims from this strike increased to two.
The mayor reported that 14 residents had been injured since the beginning of the day. Six patients were hospitalized in city hospitals.
Threats to Europe
Meanwhile, a columnist for the American publication drew attention to the risks of Moscow using the war against Ukraine to expand hybrid attacks on European countries. The weak reaction of the United States is called a factor of escalation.
A military simulation involving congressmen and diplomats outlined a hypothetical scenario for 2028. It examines the threat of aggression against neighboring states if hostilities become a protracted stalemate.
