Three airports in Moscow suspend operations on October 17

Restrictions were imposed on civil flights at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky

In the Russian capital, the reception and departure of aircraft have been stopped once again at three major airports. Airport operations have been restricted for the second consecutive day. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Юлія Маловічко) citing Росавіація, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

On the night of October 17, Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports suspended their operations. The Russian aviation regulatory body, Rosaviatsia, announced the suspension of flight services.

The regulator’s statement refers to the implementation of temporary measures to ensure flight safety. The agency did not disclose specific reasons for the suspension of airport activities.

Similar restrictions were in effect a day earlier. At that time, Sheremetyevo was also included alongside the three mentioned airports, with a mass drone attack cited as the reason for the aviation hub’s disruption.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin previously reported an attack involving approximately 50 drones on the region. Currently, city authorities have not released any official statements regarding a new UAV threat in the skies over the Russian capital.

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have previously conducted large-scale raids using hundreds of strike drones against Moscow and the surrounding regions.
