Capital educational institutions have prepared scientific and creative activities for students
In Kyiv schools, autumn holidays will begin on October 26 and last until November 1, 2026. During this period, city educational institutions will organize a number of extracurricular activities for students, and teachers will be able to undergo advanced training courses. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from Kyiv City State Administration.
During the school holidays, capital educational institutions and extracurricular centers offer children the opportunity to participate in various sports, creative, and scientific initiatives. As KCSA Deputy Head Valentyn Mondriivskyi explained, the main goal of such programs is to provide meaningful leisure for schoolchildren, taking into account safety requirements and supporting their psycho-emotional state.
Programs for students and teachers
Each educational institution independently determines the format of its work during the break, focusing on the current security situation. Parents are advised to follow the official announcements of schools regarding specific events and conditions for children’s participation. In particular, themed online projects and literary competitions are planned for the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, organized by the Institute of Postgraduate Education of the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University.
Additional development opportunities are offered by the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth and the Kyiv Junior Academy of Sciences. Students will be able to attend events aimed at deepening their knowledge of modern technologies, culture, and research activities. The Kyiv Center for Children’s and Youth Tourism, Local History, and Military-Patriotic Education has also prepared an active program, with announcements published on the institution’s page.
Professional teacher training
A separate block of work is dedicated to the development of teaching staff, who will be able to improve their qualifications between October 26 and October 30. The program includes professional training sessions and courses covering digital literacy, methods for creating a safe environment, and techniques for emotional resilience. In particular, teachers will be able to join events as part of the “Budmo zdorovi” (“Let’s be healthy”) psycho-emotional recovery project.
In addition to educational events, schoolchildren have access to information about leisure through broadcasts of the First Online Radio “Shkola” (“School”), which is available both online and as a mobile application. City authorities emphasize that the safety of children remains the absolute priority during the war, so the format of any activity may be changed depending on the operational situation in Kyiv.
