The enemy is attempting to locate Defence Forces positions and remotely mine border areas
Increased activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups has been recorded in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. Invaders are attempting to reconnoiter Ukrainian defensive lines and install minefields. This was reported by Ukrinform citing the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Ukrainian border guards confirm renewed attempts by saboteurs to cross the border. While enemy activity was previously minimal, several incidents are now being recorded in these areas, said State Border Guard Service of Ukraine spokesman Andrii Demchenko.
The primary goal of the Russian SRGs is to study the structure of Ukrainian defenses and pinpoint the exact locations of positions. Whenever favorable conditions arise, the occupiers attempt to launch direct attacks on Ukrainian forces.
Mining of border areas
In addition to reconnaissance operations, the enemy is employing remote mining tactics. While retreating after infiltration attempts, saboteurs leave explosive devices along transport routes, hoping to inflict damage on Ukrainian units.
To counter this threat, the Defence Forces have increased their use of unmanned aerial vehicles. Border guards utilize incoming intelligence for preventive measures, allowing for a timely response to border crossing attempts on the most volatile axes.
Situation in Kharkiv region
In the Kharkiv region, the Russian army continues its attempts to expand its area of control. According to the spokesman, the enemy is resorting to massive destruction of Ukrainian positions, planning to facilitate the advance of its infantry.
Despite intensive efforts, Russian troops are sustaining significant casualties in personnel. This sector of the front also records the highest frequency of occupiers being captured by Ukrainian defenders during failed assault operations.
