Producer prices for industrial products in Ukraine fell by 2.8% in September 2026

Lower electricity and gas costs have slowed the pace of industrial inflation

In September 2026, producer prices for industrial goods in Ukraine decreased by 2.8% compared to August. Meanwhile, in year-on-year terms, this figure showed an increase of 38.4%. This was reported by Ukrinform citing the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The main driver for the monthly price decrease was a 6.8% decline in costs for the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning. This specific factor influenced the adjustment of industrial inflation dynamics in September.

Annual industrial inflation indicators

Despite the monthly decrease, the year-on-year trend remains upward. The figure rose to 38.4% compared to the 37.3% observed in the previous month.

Impact on the overall economic situation

Overall consumer inflation accelerated to 10.0% year-on-year in September 2026. This figure exceeded the expectations outlined by the National Bank of Ukraine in its July Inflation Report.

Price dynamics were driven by the consequences of russian attacks on production, warehousing, and logistics infrastructure. Higher fuel costs served as an additional factor exerting pressure on prices.
