Maria Zakharova demands that European politicians change their approach to dialogue
Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated that there are currently no potential partners in Europe for negotiations on ending the war against Ukraine. Russia demands that European countries change their rhetoric and communication approaches. This was reported by Glavcom, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The spokesperson for the Russian foreign policy department, Maria Zakharova, has spoken about the prospects of involving European states in the negotiation process to settle the Russia-Ukraine war. According to her, the Kremlin currently does not see representatives of Europe as subjects with whom a constructive dialogue can be held.
In a comment to Russian media, the official noted that European politicians should learn to use words and means of communication for their intended purpose. Only after such approaches are changed, in Zakharova’s opinion, will it be possible to discuss the possibility of contacts or negotiations.
Requirements for European diplomacy
Similar statements have been made against the backdrop of ongoing discussions within international platforms regarding the format of future peace initiatives. European leaders have repeatedly emphasized the importance of considering EU security interests during any agreements, while Moscow continues to criticize Europe’s position on military actions.
In parallel, US President Donald Trump has outlined his vision for the future format of relations. According to him, the resumption of economic and business cooperation between Washington and Moscow will only be possible after the conflict is fully resolved and a corresponding peace agreement is signed.
