A GUR service member emphasized that surrendering is a vital chance for Russian soldiers to survive
A representative of the Sibirskyi Battalion within the GUR has urged Russian military personnel to disobey criminal orders and surrender voluntarily. The fighter stated that this remains the only viable path for survival for soldiers currently serving on the front lines. This was reported by Glavcom, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Nikita, operating under the call sign Zergut, stated in an interview that Russian military personnel are increasingly aware of their command’s true attitude toward them. The fighter emphasized that rank-and-file soldiers realize they are considered expendable by their leadership, which views them merely as a resource.
Call for sabotage
“Sabotage your command’s orders. Surrender. That is it. Otherwise, you will die regardless. Yes, there is no other way,” Zergut declared. According to him, an alternative option involves joining units such as the Russian Volunteer Corps or other formations fighting on the side of Ukraine.
Mass desertion
He also reported significant numbers of desertion cases within the occupation forces. The fighter assured that the Ukrainian side is ready to accept Russian soldiers who are willing to lay down their arms, as it remains their only realistic chance of survival.
Prospects for ending the conflict
Previously, Aleksandr Fortuna, Chief of Staff of the Russian Volunteer Corps, expressed skepticism regarding peace negotiations. In his view, the full-scale war is a key instrument for maintaining the domestic regime of Vladimir Putin, leaving no substantive basis for peace talks at this time.
