Kyiv is ready to stop attacks in exchange for an energy truce, access to Starlink, or the supply of Patriot systems
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine had proposed three scenarios to the American administration to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries. So far, none of these options have been implemented. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Юлія Капітонова), according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The head of state explained that the Ukrainian side had expressed readiness to cease operations against Russian fuel infrastructure if specific conditions were met. The first option involves an “energy truce,” where the Russian Federation stops striking Ukrainian power infrastructure. The second scenario involves providing Ukraine with access to Starlink over Russian territory to detect and destroy ballistic missile launchers. The third option entails transferring Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine should technical capabilities for Starlink usage remain unavailable.
Lack of response from the US
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that none of the proposals had been implemented. Moreover, according to the president, the trend is moving in the opposite direction: the United States has eased sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, and the speed of Starlink satellite internet for Ukraine has been reduced.
Response to military actions
The president noted that attacks on Russian refineries are a matter of justice and survival, as Ukraine is compelled to respond to the enemy’s destructive actions. In its calculations, Kyiv relies on the fact that Russia’s share in global diesel exports is only 2%, meaning such operations do not have a critical impact on the global market.
The head of state also added that respect for Ukraine and its strength is a key element in the confrontation. As long as no agreements are reached, the Defense Forces continue to implement their plan to destroy the capabilities of the Russian defense-industrial complex.
