Pharmacies are going to change prices: Ukrainians warned about the rise in the price of medicines

Ukrainians should prepare for a selective rise in the price of medicines in 2026. Against the background of a general increase in food and fuel prices, the pharmaceutical market is also showing a tendency to increase in cost, especially in the segment of foreign medicines. As reported by Delo.ua, this was stated by the director of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health Edem Adamanov. The PromPolitInform portal informs.

Which medicines are at risk and whether it is worth stocking up

Experts note that the price increase will not be total, but it will significantly affect certain groups of goods:

Imported medicines: the price of foreign-made medicines may increase by 10–15%. This is directly related to the exchange rate for which medicines and raw materials are purchased.

The feasibility of stocks: Ministry of Health experts warn against excessive buying up of medicines “in reserve”. The potential savings from creating a reserve for 1–2 months are insignificant compared to the risks of expiration or purchasing unnecessary drugs.

Local production: domestic drugs are expected to be more stable in price, although they also partially depend on the cost of imported ingredients.

The main advice for the population is to remain calm and buy drugs according to current needs, since the surge in demand can only further stimulate price increases.

Recall that about 76% of companies declare a shortage of imported drugs. Experts point to the formation of a systemic problem that requires prompt intervention by regulators to provide pharmacy chains with the necessary funds.
