Pensions of some categories of Ukrainian pensioners will increase from May 1

Since the beginning of the last spring month, the majority of pensioners will continue to receive payments in the same amount.

In May 2026, a significant increase in pension payments in Ukraine is not predicted. However, certain categories of Ukrainian pensioners will be able to count on individual allowances due to age-related supplements, subject to compliance with the established conditions. This is reported by the PromPolitInform portal with reference to information Noviny.LIVE.

It is noted that since the beginning of the last spring month, the majority of pensioners will continue to receive payments in the same amount. However, additional charges are provided for three age groups.

It is reported that these are monthly compensations for those who will turn 70, 75 or 80 years old during the month. At the same time, the amounts of such supplements are:

for persons aged 70 to 75 years old – 300 UAH;

from 75 to 80 years old – 456 UAH;

for citizens over 80 years old – 570 UAH.

At the same time, the amounts do not add up: when moving to the next age category, only the difference is paid. The accrual of the allowance begins from the day of reaching the appropriate age, and not from the beginning of the month, after which payments are made regularly from the first days of each month.

In addition, another mandatory condition is the total amount of the pension: it should not exceed 10,340 UAH. Otherwise, the right to a supplement is not granted.

It is also noted that it is not necessary to issue such payments separately – the Pension Fund will assign and transfer them automatically together with the basic pension.
