President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is investing $30 billion in the defense industry by 2026. However, the defense sector is ready to produce volumes of $60 billion. NV informs, Zelenskyy said this in an interview for a telethon broadcast on Monday, April 20. The PromPolitInform portal reports.
“Today, we are investing 30 billion in Ukrainian defense, this is the task for the 26th year… Today, our defense industry says, we are already producing, we are ready to produce volumes of 60,” the head of state said.
In January, the Ministry of Defense reported that according to the results of 2025, the enterprises of JSC Ukrainian Defense Industry significantly increased the production of weapons and military equipment. The total figure increased by one and a half times – from 122 billion UAH in 2024 to over 180 billion UAH in 2025.
The Ministry of Defense explained that the sharp increase in production volumes was made possible by the expansion of production capacities and the growth of state orders. During the year, the number of concluded contracts increased by approximately 50%.
