Changing approaches to warfare: Sirsky presented a new strategy of the Armed Forces

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky during an official meeting with the commander of the National Armed Forces of Latvia, Major General Kaspars Pudans, announced a change in approaches to warfare. In conditions of numerical superiority of the enemy, the Defense Forces rely on asymmetric actions and strikes deep into the territory of Russia.

Alexander Syrsky spoke about this in his social networks, informs the portal PromPolitInform.

According to him, the choice of such a strategy is a logical response to current challenges. Since the enemy has more resources in equipment, weapons and manpower, the model of war of attrition is no longer a priority for Ukraine.

Key tasks and tactics of Deep Strike

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detailed the main directions on which Ukrainian defenders will focus. The main goal is to turn each step of the enemy into the most costly for him.

“The key tasks are to make each step of the enemy as costly as possible, to destroy the enemy, to restrain his advancement, to hit the rear areas, in particular the objects of the military-industrial complex in the depths of the territory of the Russian Federation by means of Deep Strike, to protect the airspace of Ukraine,” Sirsky emphasized.

The use of long-range strikes (Deep Strike) on the aggressor’s military-industrial facilities should undermine its logistical and production potential, which is a critical component of the asymmetric struggle.

Latvia’s role and international support

During the talks, Alexander Syrsky expressed deep gratitude to the government and people of Latvia for their unwavering political, financial and military assistance. He emphasized the country’s contribution to the implementation of the Priority List of Ukraine’s Needs (PURL) program, as well as its leading role in strategic associations.

In particular, the Commander-in-Chief thanked for Latvia’s leadership in the Drone Coalition and active position in the activities of the IT Coalition. In his opinion, the success of an asymmetric strategy directly depends on the stable supply of technological weapons from the allies.

Oleksandr Syrsky summarized that the continuation of effective support from the partner states is extremely important not only for Ukraine, but also for ensuring long-term peace and security of the whole united Europe.
