According to the results of monitoring measures, the AMCU found that when promoting tariff plans across various communication channels (tariff plan packaging, websites on the Internet, social media, advertising materials), mobile operators use claims such as “unlimited,” “unlimited internet,” and similar wording.
This was reported by the MZU website, as cited by the Prompolitinform portal.
At the same time, it was established that after using a fixed amount of internet traffic, operators significantly reduce mobile internet speed—to a level that may hinder or limit full use of online services.
The Committee recommends that mobile operators inform consumers about unlimited mobile internet in a way that does not mislead them regarding existing speed limitations.
Such recommendations of the Committee must be reviewed within thirty days from the date they are received by mobile operators.
