On the night of May 6, 2026, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Rostov Region, 1 guided aircraft missile Kh-31 from the airspace of the Kursk Region, as well as 108 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerber, Italmas type and simulated drones of the Parody type.
This was reported by the press center of the Air Force Command, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
As noted, the air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, EW units and unmanned systems, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
How did our air defense work?
According to preliminary data, as of 08.00, air defense shot down/suppressed 89 enemy UAVs such as Shahed, Gerber, Italmas and drones-imitators “Parody” in the north and east of the country.
2 ballistic missiles, 1 guided aircraft missile and 9 attack UAVs were hit at 8 locations, as well as the fall of downed (debris) at 1 location.
“The attack continues, in the airspace of several enemy UAVs. Follow the safety rules!,” – emphasize the Air Force.
Shelling of Ukraine
Recall that on the morning of May 6, Russian troops attacked several cities of Ukraine, which violated the “silence” regime, which was proposed and announced by President Vladimir Zelensky.
Immediately after the start of the truce, an explosion was heard in the Dnieper, but the fixation of enemy targets was minimal.
In the morning, the enemy intensified attacks, the military recorded drones and launches of KABs.
Also under attack, where it is already known about the consequences – were Kharkov and Zaporozhye.
In particular, in Kharkiv damaged houses and victims. In Zaporozhye, an industrial infrastructure facility was attacked.
