President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that as of the morning of May 6, Russia had committed at least 1,820 violations of the ceasefire initiated by Ukraine at midnight on May 5-6. He noted that the enemy continued assault actions and airstrikes. The Head of State stressed that Ukraine will act symmetrically in response to aggression, and the final decision on further actions will be made after the evening reports of the military and intelligence.
This was reported by the Telegram of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
According to the president, despite the declared truce, assault actions continue on all key sections of the front, and only from the beginning of this day the Russian army has already carried out almost 30 assault actions.
Only for today’s night and morning recorded more than 20 air strikes with the use of more than 70 bombs.
During this night, the Russian army also struck with drones of various types. In particular, our Defense Forces of Ukraine neutralized only shock drones almost ninety. There were rocket attacks.
In total, as of 10:00, the Russian army committed 1820 violations of the silence regime: shelling, attempted assaults, air strikes, the use of drones.
“Ukraine clearly stated that it would act in a mirror, given the intrusive Russian appeals through the media and social networks with a request to arrange silence during the Moscow parade. For all normal people, it is obvious that a full-scale war and the daily killing of people is a bad time for public “celebrations,” Zelensky said.
He stressed that Russia must end its war. Even with the Internet cut off and communication blocked, most Russians are absolutely clear that their leadership “can get out of the bunker and choose peace.”
The President added that the Russian side has diplomatic proposals from Ukraine, and the only thing that is needed is Russia’s readiness to move towards real peace.
“As of this day, we state that the Russian side has disrupted the ceasefire. Based on the results of the evening reports of our military and intelligence, we will determine our further actions,” Zelensky said.
Armistice of Ukraine and Russia
Recall that last week the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the order of the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on a truce with Ukraine on May 8-9 in honor of “Victory Day.”
It is worth noting that Moscow took such a step without coordination with Kyiv. Separately, the Russian Federation threatened that if the celebration was disrupted by attacks, a massive missile strike would be launched in the center of the Ukrainian capital.
In response to such an initiative, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine announces a silence regime with Russia from 00:00 on May 6. According to him, the Ukrainian military will act in a mirror in case of provocations of the Russian Federation.
However, at night and in the morning of May 6, the Russians attacked several cities of Ukraine, which violated the “silence” regime. Also did not stop fighting at the front.
