Ukraine imported 29 million cubic meters of natural gas in April.

Ukraine imported 29 million cubic meters of natural gas in April. This is 28 times less than in March (789 million cubic meters) and eight times less than in April 2025 (219 million cubic meters). This writes the industry publication ExPro, informs the portal PromPolitInform.

According to him, the volume of gas imported into Ukraine last month was the lowest since December 2024.

The reason for the sharp reduction in imports, the publication calls high prices for natural gas in Europe, which throughout March held at a higher level than in Ukraine. On average, gas in Europe (TTF) in March was traded at 9 euros/MWh more expensive than in the Ukrainian market.

Gas in Europe rose in price after the outbreak of war in the Middle East, which led to a stop in the supply of LNG from Qatar and the UAE.

“Given the relatively high gas reserves in Ukrainian storage facilities, Ukraine may allow not to import gas for a certain period,” ExPro said.
