After the strike on May 7, key oil refining plants were urgently stopped at the Perm Oil Refinery. The Lukoil company, which owns the plant, did not officially comment on the situation.

The Perm oil refinery in Russia completely stopped refining oil after a drone attack on May 7, as reported by Reuters with reference to two sources in the industry, the PromPolitInform portal informs.

According to the interlocutors of the agency, as a result of the impact and fire at the enterprise, production facilities were damaged.

After the attack, the three main primary oil refining plants, as well as part of the secondary plants, were urgently stopped.

One of the installations – CDU-4 – has not worked since April 30 after the previous drone attack.

Repairs can take several weeks

Reuters sources claim that restoration work at the enterprise may take several weeks.

The Lukoil company, which owns the plant, did not officially comment on the situation.

The governor of the Perm Territory Dmitry Makhonin previously announced the attack of Ukrainian drones on industrial facilities in the region, but did not specify which enterprise was hit.

One of the largest refineries in Russia

In 2024, the Perm refinery processed about 12.6 million tons of oil – this is about 250 thousand barrels per day.

The company produced:

2 million tons of gasoline;
5.3 million tons of diesel fuel;
700 thousand tons of coke;
200 thousand tons of fuel oil.

Recall that the refinery in Kirishi suspended oil refining after the blow of Ukraine. The plant is located in the Leningrad region.
