Russian army recruitment Ukraine; Donetsk student military contract

The Kremlin is introducing new manipulative ways to lure youth from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine into the russian army to participate in the war. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Tsentr Protydii Dezinformatsii Pry Radi Natsionalnoi Bezpeky I Oborony Ukrainy, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

Propaganda resources are actively promoting the story of a guy from Donetsk who allegedly studies at a university and simultaneously serves under a contract. In particular, according to the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, propagandists emphasize that a special contract format is provided for such students and urge other students to participate in the war.

The purpose of these actions is to compensate for heavy losses at the front by involving residents of captured regions.

The Center noted that such stories form an impression among young people that service in the russian army is easy money, status, and social guarantees, romanticizing the war. In particular, through such simple manipulations, the Kremlin is trying to recruit as much youth as possible to compensate for enormous losses in the war.

«The Kremlin is trying not only to impose a russian identity on the residents of the TOT, but also to use this population as a resource to continue the war», — the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine concluded.
