Testing of procedures on the green line's surface section precedes full-scale launch
Kyiv Metro will conduct testing of a new train movement procedure on the surface section of the Syretsko-Pecherska line on September 9. A full-scale launch of the updated operational mode during yellow alert levels is scheduled for September 10. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Анастасія Никончук) citing the Telegram channel of Kyiv City State Administration, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Practical testing of these algorithms is designed to verify the enterprise’s readiness to operate under increased threat conditions. Specialists are practicing the transition mechanisms between threat levels, as well as coordination between train drivers, dispatchers, and station staff.
Organizational safety measures
The Metro is paying particular attention to evacuation procedures for passengers from surface track sections. Training for shift-based staff ensures strict compliance with protocols during emergency situations, as the metro remains critical infrastructure for the city.
As part of the preparation, passenger audio announcements are being updated across 105 head cars on the Syretsko-Pecherska line. Changes to the notification system are intended to align instructions with new safety protocols.
Integration of new protocols
Full implementation of the updated movement mode on the surface section begins on September 10. This decision is part of comprehensive security measures, which include restrictions on holding public events in the capital in locations lacking proper shelters.
