Daily 20,000 and 40,000 UAH Assault Pay: Ministry of Defence Explains Procedure for Military Personnel

Right to funds is verified by combat orders, logs and unit commander reports

Ukrainian military personnel are entitled to additional remuneration of 20,000 or 40,000 UAH for each day of participation in assault operations. Payments are calculated individually for each soldier upon submission of a full package of supporting documents and an official command order. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has clarified the procedure for confirming the eligibility of Defence Forces personnel for daily bonus payments for participating in assault operations. Accrual is not based on mere assignment to an assault unit or presence at designated lines, but on documented combat execution and results.

To process the payment, a comprehensive set of supporting documents must be collected. The required list includes a combat order or command instruction, an entry in the combat log, and a final or urgent combat report outlining the overall outcome of the engagement.

Documents required to verify assault operations

In addition to primary combat records, the claim relies on an official report from the unit or group commander. This document must detail the battle outcomes, timeframe, spatial boundaries of the operation, losses incurred, and specific units involved.

A nominal roll of service members must also be attached, specifying each individual’s full name, rank, position, exact duration of involvement, and recommended payment amount. Upon assembling the file, the unit commander submits a petition to the relevant military management authority.

Review timelines and issuing orders

The military management authority reviews the petition and supporting files within three days. Once the details are verified, an official order confirming the execution of assault operations is issued.

Following this verification, the commander of the service member’s permanent unit issues the final order for disbursement. For seconded personnel, the payment order is processed at their regular duty station based on official confirmation from the unit where the assault mission took place.

The ministry emphasized that the daily bonus of 20,000 or 40,000 UAH is assigned to each verified soldier individually, rather than distributed as a lump sum to an entire unit.
