Defense contracts and the gambling industry remain under intense scrutiny

Глава Налогового комитета Даниил Гетманцев выделил ключевые направления для минимизации налогов и теневой экономики в стране. В список вошли военные закупки, производство беспилотников, контрабанда и игорный бизнес. This was reported by Minfin citing Yaroslav Zheleznyak, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The head of the parliamentary committee emphasized the need for heightened attention to the defense sector and the manufacturing of unmanned aerial vehicles. In addition, significant risks are identified in the turnover of excise goods, specifically the illegal tobacco and alcohol markets.

Issues in defense procurement

Earlier, the relevant temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada had already uncovered a number of violations in this industry. Parliamentarians recorded cases of unjustified price inflation, non-fulfillment of signed contracts, and weak control over drone supplies.

The MP drew separate attention to processes related to the activities of territorial recruitment and social support centers. Problematic issues within this structure have also been the subject of parliamentary investigations.

Demands on law enforcement agencies

The politician called on anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies to demonstrate greater effectiveness in investigating potential abuses. In his view, inspections should cover the customs service, the gambling business, and the excise products market.

Overall, the aforementioned sectors retain the highest potential for shadow schemes and tax evasion from the state budget. The need for systemic counteraction to these phenomena remains a priority task for regulatory authorities.
