Sociologists tracked shifts in public mood in mid-August 2026
A sociological survey recorded dynamics in public trust indicators for President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during August 2026. Overall, a majority of polled citizens continue to express support for the head of state. This was reported by Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
According to survey results conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology between August 8 and August 16, 2026, 54% of respondents approve of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s performance. Meanwhile, 41% of those polled expressed distrust in the head of state.
Data analysis over time indicates significant shifts in public assessment during the survey period itself. At the start of the poll, on August 8–9, trust in the president stood at 43%, while 52% of respondents expressed distrust.
Shift in Public Sentiment in Mid-August
In the second half of the study, from August 10 to August 16, the situation changed noticeably: the share of citizens trusting Volodymyr Zelenskyy rose to 57%. Correspondingly, the distrust rate among respondents declined to 39%.
Sociologists note that such fluctuations reflect the Ukrainian public’s sensitivity to news regarding international negotiations and foreign policy events occurring during this timeframe.
