Fedorov had a meeting with Pistorius – they talked about military assistance and defense cooperation.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov together with the team held a working meeting with the Minister of Defense of Germany Boris Pistorius, during which they discussed international military assistance, the potential of cooperation between defense industries and the development of data exchange.
Fedorov announced this on Facebook, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
“I had a working meeting with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. Germany is one of the key partners of Ukraine in the field of security and defense. We highly appreciate this systemic and large-scale support,” the minister said.
He recalled that he also plans to sign a number of important agreements that will strengthen the defense of Ukraine.
“11.5 billion euros for Ukraine in 2026 is almost 35% of all international military assistance to our state. This is a powerful signal and a significant contribution to our common security,” Fedorov said.
In addition, the minister expressed gratitude for the leadership and personal involvement of Pistorius.
“We appreciate the partners’ investments in air defense, in particular, the transfer of PAC-3 missiles in February is critical for the protection of Ukrainian cities, as well as for financing drone assault units and the supply of long-range artillery ammunition,” he stressed.
Fedorov informed that the parties also discussed the potential for cooperation between the defense industries and the development of data exchange. In particular, Ukraine is ready to share the unique experience of modern warfare.
“We continue to build a win-win partnership and strengthen the defense capabilities of Ukraine together with its allies,” the minister concluded.
In particular, during the visit, they agreed on a package of defense agreements totaling €4 billion, regarding:
Strengthening of air defense
Germany will finance a contract for several hundred missiles to Patriot – this will significantly strengthen the protection of Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure. It is also planned to supply 36 IRIS-T launchers, which will strengthen the multi-level air defense system.
Development of Deep-strike
Ukraine and Germany have agreed on €300 million of investment in long-range capabilities, which will increase the production of Ukrainian weapons.
Production of drones
As part of the Build with Ukraine initiative, a joint production of mid-strike drones using AI is launched. At the first stage – 5,000 drones for the Defense Forces.
“I am grateful to Boris Pistorius for his leadership and systemic support. This is win-win cooperation, which strengthens the defense of Ukraine and the security of the whole of Europe,” Fedorov said.
