Chernihiv Thermal Power Plant (CHP) suspended work due to a massive Russian attack on the night of April 17. The city has stopped the supply of hot water.

This was reported by the press service  of the Chernihiv City Council, informs the portal  PromPolitInform.

“Objects of critical infrastructure again suffered a targeted defeat, which affected the stability of their functioning,” the report said.

As of April 17, 2026, the supply of hot water for consumers of KP Teplokommunenergo was temporarily suspended.

The city council noted that employees of the enterprise continue to work to provide vital services in the homes of residents.

Emergency services, technical specialists and enterprise management work at the facility.

The exact timing of the restoration is currently being established, as the scale of the damage requires a detailed technical assessment.

Recall that Chernihiv is almost under daily shelling.

So, on April 13, the Russian Federation attacked an energy facility in the Chernihiv region. As a result of the hit, thousands of subscribers were without electricity.
