As of August 1, Ukraine has prepared over 83.5 thousand residential buildings for the heating season, reaching nearly 60% of the planned target. This was reported by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development. Preparatory measures continue despite daily Russian shelling and targeted attacks on critical infrastructure facilities. As of August 1, the necessary scope of work has already been completed in 83,553 residential buildings.
The ministry emphasized that winter preparation involves a comprehensive set of measures to ensure uninterrupted heat, water, and electricity supply, as well as community preparedness for potential emergencies. Currently, specialists have repaired over 6.2 thousand roofs and updated engineering networks in thousands of buildings.
Educational, healthcare, and preschool institutions are nearly 63% ready for operation. Utility works have been carried out at over 60% of boiler houses across the country.
Municipal services update thousands of kilometers of heating and water networks
More than 10.4 thousand kilometers of heating networks are ready for operation, alongside nearly 1 thousand kilometers of water and sewage pipelines. Communities are actively accumulating fuel reserves to maintain stable utility systems throughout the heating season.
Road maintenance services have prepared over 3.2 thousand units of specialized machinery and nearly 1 million tons of anti-icing materials. The Kyiv City State Administration reported that engineering and technical protection structures in the capital are 60% complete.
Recovery of damaged infrastructure in Kyiv stands at 65%, while approximately 65 MW of cogeneration capacity has been built. All regions continue active preparations to meet the main objective of ensuring stable municipal life-support systems.
