In the first half of 2026, an increase in the volumes of credit and debit transfers was recorded in Ukraine. Over January to June, 1.4 billion such payment operations were carried out within the country. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the National Bank of Ukraine.
During the first half of 2026, payment transaction services using credit transfers and direct debits in Ukraine were provided by 60 banks and three non-bank financial institutions. Within the country, 1.4 billion credit transfer operations totaling nearly UAH 27.5 trillion were carried out over the specified period.
Credit transfers covered significant volumes of funds in domestic and international traffic
In the first half of 2026, cross-border credit transfer operations to Ukraine amounted to over 4 million transactions totaling USD 36.95 billion equivalent. At the same time, over 1.4 million such operations totaling USD 50.62 billion equivalent were carried out from the country during this period.
In addition, 1.9 million direct debit payment operations totaling UAH 10.54 billion were recorded between January and June. For comparison, over the same period last year, this figure stood at 1.1 million operations totaling UAH 7.10 billion.
Individuals prevail in terms of the number of operations, while businesses lead in amounts
The largest number of domestic credit transfer payment operations was performed from individual accounts — 1.1 billion operations, accounting for 77.18% of the total number. In terms of amount, business entities made the most of such transfers, transferring UAH 25.6 trillion or 93.13% of the total amount.
Almost 2.7 million operations arrived from abroad in favor of individuals, which equals 66.22% of the total number of relevant payment operations. The largest inflows of funds to Ukraine were recorded from the countries of the European Union, Switzerland, and the United States of America.
