FSB agent detained while transferring intelligence on Defense Forces facility
The Security Service of Ukraine exposed a resident of Lviv region who was recruited by the russian FSB and was preparing a missile strike on a drone manufacturing enterprise. The suspect was served a notice of suspicion of high treason under martial law. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from Security Service of Ukraine.
The enemy agent worked at a Defense Forces unmanned systems production facility in western Ukraine. According to the investigation, he was tasked with guiding an occupant missile strike on this target to disrupt the uninterrupted supply of weapons to Ukrainian defenders.
Search for geolocations and intelligence
To carry out the enemy’s tasks, the perpetrator tried to transfer exact coordinates of the administrative, production, and warehouse premises of the potential target to representatives of the russian special service. In addition, the handlers hoped to obtain information about the time when the largest number of people would be present at the restricted facility.
Detention and seizure of evidence
Employees of the Ukrainian special service prevented the implementation of the criminal plan in advance and detained the suspect. During searches, law enforcement officers found a tablet used for conspiratorial communication with the handler and transmission of intelligence data.
Recruitment and further steps
As the investigation found, the Lviv region resident came to the attention of the russian special service via a Telegram channel where he was looking for easy money. Security Service investigators incriminate him with high treason committed under martial law.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment together with confiscation of property. Comprehensive measures were implemented in cooperation with the State Penitentiary Service under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
