Krynky Operation Depleted Five Russian Divisions, Marine Chief of Staff Says

Russian units lost combat capability during battles on the Dnipro left bank

The Ukrainian counteroffensive operation to establish a bridgehead in the village of Krynky on the left bank of the Dnipro River was a historical event for the Armed Forces. Despite heavy Ukrainian casualties, Russian forces suffered even greater losses in the sector. This was reported by Glavcom citing Crimea.Realities, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

An assessment of the 2023 operation was provided by Colonel Alim Kerimov, Chief of Staff of the 34th Separate Marine Brigade of the ZSU. According to him, during battles on the left bank of the Kherson region, five divisions of the Russian armed forces effectively lost combat capability fighting against four Ukrainian Marine brigades.

The officer emphasized that holding the bridgehead demanded significant sacrifices but yielded an important strategic result. All personnel involved in troop transport and logistics demonstrated true heroism.

Impact on the Zaporizhzhia Sector

The actions of the Defence Forces in Krynky tied down substantial Russian forces in the south. As a result, the Russian command was forced to regroup its units and redeploy reserves away from the Zaporizhzhia direction.

This occurred while Ukrainian troops were already conducting counteroffensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia sector. The Russian units depleted in fights against the Marines lost their combat effectiveness and could no longer be deployed there.
