The parcels for local families with children included food and toys
Soldiers of the 11th Brigade of the National Guard have delivered over 600 kilograms of humanitarian aid to occupied Oleshky using drones. The supplies are intended for families with children currently facing dire conditions in the city. This was reported by Glavcom citing Ivan Vyhivskyi, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Service members of the Special Purpose Company “Bolharychi” have carried out an operation to provide residents of the occupied city with essential goods. As reported by Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vyhivskyi, 15 parcels weighing over 600 kilograms were delivered to the settlement.
Contents of the humanitarian cargo
The parcels contained milk, dry cereals, toys, and educational games. According to Ivan Vyhivskyi, such support measures are vital for families with children, particularly those born after the full-scale Russian invasion began.
Situation in the city
Oleshky is currently facing a critical humanitarian situation characterized by shortages of food, medicine, and electricity. Utilizing drones for aid delivery has become a necessary measure due to the impossibility of ground transport, caused by mined roads and persistent military activity.
This is not the first instance of drones being used to assist local residents. In early October, Ukrainian military personnel delivered approximately 4 tons of supplies in nearly 400 parcels containing food and medical equipment.
Ceasefire agreements
Both Ukrainian and Russian sides have agreed on a ceasefire to facilitate the humanitarian mission. Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets stated that the truce will begin on October 27 at 03:00 Kyiv time, which was confirmed by Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Yana Lantratova.
The agreement includes three key steps: a ceasefire, transportation of aid, and the freedom of movement for civilians. Notably, the White House has announced a different start date for the local truce — October 29.
